SUCCESS IS MINE FINALLY
Apr. 4th, 2025 04:15 pmI have achieved a dream years in the making today! My white whale is CAUGHT, Ahab wishes he was me.
Which is all to say: the 2015 reprinting of Delta Rae's 2012 album Carry The Fire suffers from a severe case of "they put After It All (2015) on the Carry The Fire (2012; reprinted 2015) disc" on some amount of the discs. I discovered this by buying the disc at my local record store a couple years ago, getting home and ripping it, and being absolutely baffled as to why I now had two ripped copies of After It All. Upon exchanging it, the record store staff as baffled as I, I ripped the replacement and guess what! After It All again. And so my quest was born: How Many Dang Times Will I Have To Buy This Thing Til The Album On The Disc Art Is The Album On The Disc.
(It's also surprisingly hard to find high quality audio files of this album for sale online, which didn't help!)
The last time I complained about this, one of my tumblr mutuals told me to try Discogs marketplace, which I hadn't realized existed--the site, yes, the marketplace, no! So I bravely ordered another CD, looking for ones that were a certain amount of used that implied that the music present was indeed the music listed, and now, a couple weeks later, it has arrived.
With all twelve songs from Carry The Fire (2012) and none of the fifteen songs from After It All (2015).
WHITE WHALE HARPOONED. It is ripped. It is tested. It is filed away (physically and digitally). My AfterItAll-in-CarryTheFire's-clothing is labeled and set to be given away to someone who knows they are actually getting the most confusing official copy of After It All around. SUCCESS IS MINE
